Employees like to be recognized be it a single word of appreciation or a gesture from his/her boss. Various organizations recognize their staff differently. May be its on performance, honesty, punctuality, and other factors. However selection criteria should be transparent in this exercise to motivate all staff and to show they all have equal opportunity.
